Set your counter

In OBS, right-click this Browser Source → Interact. Click the overlay, then press + to add, − to undo, or R to reset. These keys work only while Interact has focus. Visible buttons are optional and will also appear on stream.

Live preview

Preview shown on a dark stage; the Browser Source background is transparent.

Open overlay

Add an OBS Browser Source, paste this URL, and set width to 1920 and height to 1080. Count changes are saved in this browser profile for this counter URL. OBS and your normal browser have separate storage. Counts do not sync between them, and clearing OBS browser data removes saved counts. This is a manual counter, with no game detection.

About the OBS Death Counter

Display a manual death count on your stream and update it through OBS’s Interact window. Use the increment, decrement and reset controls, or the supported keyboard controls while the overlay has focus. A named instance keeps its count in that browser’s local storage. It does not detect in-game events, read donations or synchronize a separate Chrome tab with OBS.

Features

  • Manual increment and decrement
  • Reset control
  • Keyboard controls while focused
  • Named counter instances
  • Count saved in the current browser’s local storage
  • OBS browser-source workflow

How to use this tool

The OBS Death Counter works right in your browser — no signup, no installation. Follow these steps:

  1. Choose a distinct instance name for the count you want to keep.
  2. Copy the overlay URL into an OBS Browser Source.
  3. Right-click that source and select Interact to update the count.
  4. Use +1, −1 or reset, or the displayed keyboard controls while the Interact window is focused.

Frequently asked questions

Does it detect deaths automatically?

No. You update the number manually. There is no game, donation or chat integration.

Can I control OBS from a separate browser tab?

No. A normal browser and OBS have separate storage. Use the OBS source’s Interact window to change the on-stream count.

Will my count survive a refresh?

The named count is stored locally in that browser instance. Clearing its site data or changing browsers can remove or separate the saved count.

Do the keyboard shortcuts work while I play a game?

They work while the counter has keyboard focus. They are not global hotkeys.
