How to run your subathon timer in OBS

  1. Set the starting time and style, then click Copy Overlay URL.
  2. Add a Browser source in OBS at 1920 × 1080 and paste the URL.
  3. To add time live, right-click the source → Interact, then click +1m / +5m / +1h. The timer keeps counting even if OBS restarts — it remembers the time left.
  4. Keep the add-time buttons on for yourself, or turn them off for a clean look (you can still interact).

About the Subathon Timer

Create a manually controlled subathon timer for an OBS or Streamlabs Browser Source. Set the starting hours and minutes, label, appearance and add-time controls, then copy the URL. Use the browser source controls to add time, pause, resume or reset. With local storage available, a running timer keeps its absolute deadline through refreshes, so elapsed offline time counts; a paused timer keeps its remaining time. Completed timers stay completed until reset or time is added. Different URL configurations use separate saved states. The editor preview and browser source run independently. No automatic subscription or donation integration is included.

Features

  • Counts down with one-click add-time (+1, +5, +10 min, +1h)

  • Saves running deadlines, paused remaining time and completed state when storage is available
  • Four themes, custom colors, transparent or full-screen background
  • Live preview — copy one browser-source URL
  • No signup, no bot, no plugin — 100% free and private

Frequently asked questions

Is this subathon timer really free?

Yes — completely free, with no signup, no bot, and no plugin. It runs entirely in your browser as an OBS browser source, and your settings live in the URL, so nothing is stored on a server.

How do I add time during the stream?

Keep the add-time buttons on, then right-click the Browser source in OBS and choose Interact. Click +1m, +5m, +10m, or +1h and the timer updates instantly. You can also pause or reset from the same buttons.

Does the timer reset if OBS or my PC crashes?

When local storage is available, the same overlay configuration reloads its saved state. Running timers continue toward an absolute deadline while closed; paused timers preserve the remaining time. Finished timers stay finished. Reset starts a new timer from the configured duration. Clearing or blocking storage removes persistence.

Do I need a Twitch bot or StreamElements?

No. This is a standalone timer you control yourself — there is no account, no OAuth, and no third-party bot. It is ideal if you want a simple, free subathon timer without connecting any service.
