Compare Two Lists
Find what matches and what is missing between two lists. Paste one item per line, choose the matching rules, then copy or download your results.
One item per line. Blank lines are ignored and repeated items appear once. Results keep the first original spelling and order.
About the Compare Two Lists
Compare columns copied from spreadsheets, product IDs, email lists, URLs or keyword exports. Only in A finds entries missing from B; Only in B finds entries missing from A. In both returns shared entries, All differences combines unmatched entries from each list, and All items combines the lists. Matching ignores letter case and surrounding spaces by default, and you can change either rule. Blank lines are ignored. Repeated items appear once in the result, keeping their first spelling and input order. Matching is exact under those rules: it does not guess that a misspelled name is the same person.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find values missing from a second list?
Paste the reference list into A and the list you want to check into B. Select Only in A to find reference values absent from B. Only in B shows extra values in B.
Can I compare two Excel or Google Sheets columns?
Yes. Copy each column into its own input, one value per line. Remove the column heading first if it should not be included. This tool compares pasted values rather than spreadsheet formulas.
How are duplicates and capitalization handled?
Case Sensitive is off by default, so Apple and apple match. Surrounding spaces are ignored by default. Each result contains unique matching values and keeps the first original spelling; enabling Case Sensitive treats differently capitalized items separately.
What will the example return?
With the default matching rules, the example returns Apple in Only in A, Date in Only in B, and Banana followed by Cherry in In both. The repeated Apple is counted once in the result.
