About the Streaming Bitrate Calculator
Choose a Twitch or YouTube H.264 preset for 720p or 1080p at 30 or 60 fps, then compare it with the upload speed you enter. Adjustable headroom reserves part of that connection for other traffic, and the audio rate is included in the budget. The result identifies whether your available bandwidth can accommodate the preset. This is a planning calculation: it does not test your connection, benchmark an encoder or guarantee stream quality.

Frequently asked questions
Does this measure my internet speed?
No. Enter an upload measurement you obtained separately. The result is only as representative as that measurement.
How is headroom used?
The selected percentage is reserved from your entered upload speed. Audio also consumes part of the remaining budget; the rest is available for video.
Will the suggested settings stop dropped frames?
Not necessarily. Network stability, hardware and scene complexity also matter. Use OBS’s Auto-Configuration Wizard and a test recording or stream to check your setup.
