Word Frequency Counter
Count how often each word appears in your text. See ranked frequency with counts, percentages, and stop-word filtering.
About the Word Frequency Counter
Count case-insensitive ASCII letter words and rank them by frequency. The optional English stop-word filter also excludes one-letter tokens. Percentages use the words remaining after filtering, not all input words. Use this to inspect repetition in a draft; it does not measure search volume or keyword ranking difficulty.

Frequently asked questions
What are stop words?
Stop words are common English words like "the", "and", "a", "in", and "to" that appear frequently but carry little meaning. Filtering them helps you focus on the important content words in your text.
How is the frequency percentage calculated?
Each percentage is the occurrence count divided by the analyzed-word count after the selected filter, multiplied by 100. With filtering off, all matched ASCII letter tokens form the denominator.
Why would I use this tool?
Word frequency analysis is useful for SEO keyword research (finding which words you use most), content analysis (identifying overused words), academic writing (checking vocabulary variety), and improving writing style.
Using the results
Accurate counting is only useful if it is instant and trustworthy. The Word Frequency Counter updates as you type and runs entirely in your browser, so even long documents are measured in real time and your text is never uploaded, logged, or shared.
